Building Watching is similar to bird watching, except buildings don’t migrate and tend to stay in one place. There are many different styles, some are local, but others, like the Georgian, appear in all 5 eastern provinces. Both my wife and I, when traveling in a new place or simply walking in a nearby town, take great pleasure in identifying different styles.
We would like to share this mentally challenging pursuit with other people. And, like bird watching, there are rare Styles that if found lead to bragging rights.
Ted, with a degree in Geography from WLU,taught primarily this subject and Canadian history, in the former Waterloo County Board of Education. He is also a past president of a Kitchener-Waterloo camera club. Ted and Nancy have camped in all 10 provinces and continue to gather material for what are now digital slide shows. Ted is presently on the executive of the local Architectural Conservancy group.
